The Edinburgh Alcohol and Drug Partnership (EADP) is a partnership between the City of Edinburgh Council, NHS Lothian, Police Scotland, and third-sector organizations, working to reduce alcohol and drug harm in Edinburgh. They provide resources and support for families and friends affected by a loved one’s substance misuse.
EADP supports families through five locality Recovery Hubs across Edinburgh (North East in Leith, North West, South East in Gilmerton, South West, and a drop-in at Craigmillar). These hubs offer access to peer support groups, counseling, and advice, often in collaboration with partners like Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs (SFAD). Families can access emotional and practical support, whether their loved one is using substances or in recovery.
The EADP’s Addiction Recovery Companion (ARC2.0) app, free to download, provides families with a directory of local services, meeting schedules (e.g., AA, NA), and tools to connect with recovery communities. Their website offers resources like guides and reports to help families understand and cope with substance misuse impacts.
EADP’s services are non-judgmental and inclusive, focusing on empowering families through community connections and harm reduction strategies. They also involve people with lived experience to ensure services meet family needs.
For more information, contact EADP via the Recovery Hub phone numbers, website contact form, or explore the ARC2.0 app. You can also reach out to SFAD (08080 10 10 11, helpline@sfad.org.uk) for direct family support referrals.
